Description
Before approaching investors or major companies, it helps to know honestly where your project stands. The Invention Readiness Assessment is a structured written review of your invention project across the areas that matter most to partners: the problem and market, the prototype, documentation, protection, business strategy and partnering readiness. It extends the free online Invention Readiness Check into a detailed, personalized report.
What’s included
- An intake questionnaire and review of the non-confidential materials you provide (and confidential materials only under an NDA).
- Assessment across six areas: problem and market, prototype and feasibility, records and documentation, protection plan, business strategy, and partner readiness.
- A readiness rating for each area with a plain-English explanation.
- A list of gaps and risks a prospective partner or investor is likely to notice.
- A prioritized action plan with practical next steps.
- One follow-up email round to clarify questions about the report.
Who it’s for
Inventors and small inventor-led companies with a developed idea or prototype who want an objective view before investing further, filing in additional countries or approaching companies. Investors may also use it to obtain a structured view of an opportunity, with the inventor’s consent.
How it works
After ordering, you receive an intake questionnaire by email. We confirm whether an NDA is needed, review your answers and materials, and may ask a few follow-up questions. We then prepare your written report and deliver it by email within the timeframe confirmed at the start of the engagement. The assessment looks at commercial and strategic readiness; it does not include a patentability opinion or a legal review. Where legal questions arise, we flag them so you can raise them with a registered patent attorney or agent.
This is a strategy and commercialization service, not legal advice. For filing, claims and agreements, please work with a registered patent attorney or agent.
